Certification against GlobalG.A.P
GlobalG.A.P (previously EUREPGAP) is a standard that has been created by european based trade organization that consists of retailers, growers, marketing organizations, co-operatives, and food manufacturers. The standard encourages the adoption of commercially viable farm assurance schemes that promote sustainable agriculture and the minimization of agrochemical inputs.
The GlobalG.A.P protocol defines the elements of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). It includes topics such as Integrated Crop Management (ICM), Integrated Pest Control (IPC), Quality Management System (QMS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), worker health, safety, welfare and environmental pollution and conservation management.
GlobalG.A.P is suitable for organizations at the farm/producer level.
The aim is to ensure integrity, transparency and harmonisation of global agricultural standards. This includes the requirements for safe food that is produced respecting:
- workers health;
- safety and welfare;
- environmental; and
- sustainable land use.
